HMatW in New Jersey According to the Centers for Disease Control, youth obesity has more than tripled in the past thirty years. As a result, many children are increasing their risk for heart disease, diabetes and a host of other ailments. Alliance for a Healthier Generation (AHG) was founded by the Clinton Foundation and the American Heart Association to combat this problem and to encourage children and their parents to make healthier life choices.

American Cancer Society
- Cancer Information - cancer information and local resources or 1-800-ACS-2345 (24 hours a day, seven days a week), trained specialists can answer questions about cancer.

Hope Lodge - Hope Lodge offers cancer patients and their families a free, temporary place to stay when their best hope for effective treatment may be in another city. Not having to worry about where to stay or how to pay for lodging allows Hope Lodge guests to focus on the most important thing: getting well.

- About Diabetes - general information about the types, symptoms and risk factors of diabetes.
- Lunch and Learn Program - diabetes 101 presentation provided at no cost to companies and community organizations.

American Kidney Fund
-
Calendar Art Contest — for those 18 or younger, have kidney disease, and live in the United States. We choose 13 winners whose drawings will illustrate our American Kidney Fund calendar, which is distributed nationwide.

HIPP - the American Kidney Fund pays Part B Medicare, Medigap, commercial, and COBRA premiums for dialysis patients who have insufficient income and savings.
- Genzyme Patient Assistance Program - through a partnership with Genzyme Corporation, Renvela ® and all formulations of Hectorol® are available to financially qualified dialysis patients who have no prescription drug coverage.
- Medicare Part D Grants- agrant program thatprovidesqualified dialysis patients a simple way to get help with the costs of their prescribedmedications covered under Medicare Part D.
- Safety Net Grants - the out-of-pocket costs for dialysis patients can be enormous. These grants help dialysis patients with a wide variety of financial needs related to treatment.
- Summer Enrichment Program - Every summer, children who are living with kidney disease enjoy the fun and friendship of going to camp just like other kids.

Arthritis Foundation, New Jersey Chapter
- Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program - warm water exercise class which allows individuals to exercise without putting excess strain on their joints and muscles.
- Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program- land based exercise program that uses gentle activities to help increase joint flexibility, maintain range of motion and muscle strength.
- Tai Chi from the Arthritis Foundation – can help reduce pain and stiffness, while improving balance and flexibility.
- Educational Presentations - offered to community centers, businesses, congregate sites and other public places on a variety of public education topics about arthritis.
- Juvenile Arthritis Family Network - a unique support system for children with arthritis, their siblings and parents to serve as a resource for helpful information self-management strategies and socialization.
- Camp CHAT (Children Have Arthritis Too) - one week sleep away camp for children with Juvenile Arthritis.

Camping & Recreational Services - Easter Seals' Camp Merry Heart -- a beautiful facility in northern New Jersey’s Warren County -- excels at making all campers feel at home. No disability, family status, race, or religion makes you unusual, as everyone has unique and special abilities at Camp Merry Heart. Individuals -- with and without disabilities -- enjoy the excitement and challenges of camping together, since all activities are inclusive.

Real Life Choices Programs - Through Real Life Choices, individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, can through care service providers like Easter Seals New Jersey -- access personalized and self-directed services that are funded through the New Jersey State Department of Human Services’ Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD).

Residential Services - Easter Seals’ Residential Services’ house individuals with mental health issues at 60 sites throughout New Jersey and provide them with not only supportive housing, but integrated case management, and mental health and home care services.

Senior Community Services Employment Program - Easter Seals’ SCSEP provides training and employment services to low-income senior citizens age 55 and older throughout the state of New Jersey.SCSEPs’ goal is to help seniors overcome the many challenges they may face on the road to becoming employable.

Epilepsy Foundation
- Camp Nova – one week overnight camp for young people ages 12-28 living with epilepsy and other developmental disabilities.
- Bounce Out the Stigma – week long basketball camps held across the state during the summer months, help children develop new motor skills and increase self confidence.
- Educational Programs – Seizure first aid trainings and in-services on a variety of specialized topics are available.
- Emergency Medication – available for families who are temporarily unable to afford the purchase of anticonvulsant medication.
- Heads Up For Safety (HUFS) – raises awareness about the importance of head injury prevention. Free educational and helmet giveaway program for children ages 6-12.
- NJWINS – free information and technical assistance on the impact of employment with regard to Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and medical benefits.
- Respite Care – provides temporary (in-home, provider’s home, community) options. Trained workers offer families a break, while at the same time comfort in knowing their child is well cared for.

- Advocacy - dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with MS by mobilizing talent and resources to give a voice to the people and help them advocate for themselves.
- Educational Programs - present timely and accurate information about the disease and related issues.

Financial and Equipment Assistance Programs – the chapter provides financial assistance, on a limited basis for eligible people who are diagnosed with MS. The assistance is not meant to cover all expenses but sometimes can make a situation a little easier to handle. In addition, specific equipment may be loaned out.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
- About St. Jude – St. Jude is unlike any other pediatric treatment and research facility. With research and patient care under one roof, St. Jude is where some of today's most gifted researchers are able to do science more quickly.
- Residential facilities – St. Jude provides free lodging to patient families who live more than 35 miles from the hospital when the patient’s treatment requires an overnight stay. The hospital provides housing for the patient and one parent.
- St. Jude School Program presented by Target – School is a normal part of childhood and the St. Jude School Program presented by Target offers several services to assist patients with their academic progress.
- Meals – St. Jude covers the cost of meals for the patient and one parent by issuing a St. Jude Meal Card or a grocery store gift card.
- Research – Our mission - to find cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment - is a constant driving force. It is through the pursuit of that mission that we seize every opportunity to help the children who come to us for care and, in so doing, to create new knowledge that will help children throughout the world.
- International Outreach Program – mission of the program is to improve the survival rates of children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases worldwide, through the sharing of knowledge, technology and organizational skills.
- Volunteer – St. Jude Children's Research Hospital offers your community many opportunities to participate in fund-raising events and promotions around the country. We have thousands of volunteers dedicated to organizing community events that appeal to people of all ages and interests while supporting the lifesaving work at St. Jude.
